A couple of days ago I had a discussion with a professor in Munich about fast and slow thinkers and makers who are different. I think the story of a young man I recently got to know describes it quite well. It has been a while since I have met Lukas the first time. Due to a business trip I was in Cologne and also visited Gamescom. When I left the exhibition building to get some fresh air, a young girl saw that I’ve got some powerbanks in my bag and asked me if she can get one since their phone charge was empty. So I gave her my Powerbank. She introduced me to her friend Lukas. In the conversation, we talked about his YouTube channel and what he’s up to and about my occupation. He told me about his business idea and his illness (meningitis) and that he could neither write nor read. In his opinion, people with disabilities should also have a platform on the Internet he said. I was very fascinated by his passion and his courage to get things done. When we met, Lukas was still in the beginning and had followers in the two-digit range. Today, he already had the opportunity to be starred in a community movie “London liegt am Nordpol” and his YouTube Channel “SakulTalks” shines with more than 2300 subscribers as well as his let’s play Channel “Sakul93lukas” with more than 3000 subscribers. Of course, it is difficult at the present time to determine if all followers are physical followers. Still, I think it’s good to support people who stand up for a good cause. Not so long ago, it seemed like a friend of mine who I know since my childhood with a disability had given up believing in himself and the world although he has no mental but a physical disability that beats on his psyche. I am convinced that people like Lukas should motivate both, him and people without disabilities to do more with the skills they have and support each other. In my opinion, the young generation is living at a time of extremism again, a time of competition, a time when there’s got to be a change and a better world has to be built, and the only way it’s going to be built—is with extreme methods and teamwork.

- General Information
Thanks to the invitation of Clarence Dadson (organizer of the Meetup event), we had the pleasure and honor of attending the tenth VR 360° Video Meetup at the Hubert Burda Media Group as well as the Burda Bootcamp in Munich.
After some insights into Burda Media Group and Burda Bootcamp’s work by the introduction of Khiem Ton-That…
…we had the opportunity to get to know Clarence Dadson (CEO of Design4Real GmbH) and his efforts to create a community for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and 360° Shots in Munich.
Followed by Traugott Emrich’s (Owner of Aero Fotografie) lecture on photogrammetry in Virtual Reality for Beginners, where we had the opportunity to learn what it is all about and how to deal with the new challenge of facilitating photogrammetry operations in real-time applications.
Kevin Mueller (Owner Visual Vitamin) showed us some awsome Use-Cases which he had created with the KanDao Osidian R and some background informations about 360-Dregree Cameras.
We had a unique audience which was extremely interested and the crowning glory was the networking with everything that goes with it. We got the chance to see the demo applications in the areas of Virtual- and Augmented Reality of Design4Reel with different Head Mounted Displays and the special drone of Michael Radeck (Owner Multikopter Schule XMS) and the right 360-Degree gimbal for it.
Some impressions of the networking session:
All in all it was a very successful event. For the future, the participating companies are planning further events to expand the community. Do not hesitate to visit the relevant events or contact us directly. We would love to get in contact with you.
Invited to give a talk @VR 360° VIDEO MEETUP about the KanDao Obsidian R and what we have done with it so far.
If you are a newbie or professional, creator, developer or just an enthusiast this could be the place for you.
We will show you how to use the KanDao Obsidian R in the best way. You will wonder what else you can do with stereoscopic 360 degree content! For example in real time engines like Unity Game Engine or on websites and social media.
This time we are guests of the VR 360 Meet Up and Burda Bootcamp.
Traugott Emrich will give you an outlook on how to find the right entry into photogrammetry and how to achieve astonishing results with a manageable budget. They’ve got also a review of the new GoPro 360 Camera Fusion.
And I’m going to show you the latest camera for stereoscopic 360-degree video- and photography.
